Partnership between Ukmergė district and Korosten municipalities is moving forward

In the end of last year, Ukmergė district and Korosten municipalities started cooperating in the framework of the “Bridges of Trust” project, implemented by the Council of European Municipalities and Regions, PLATFORMA and supported by the U-LEAD with Europe programme.

Since the first meeting, the partners already represented their municipalities during an international Forum, which took place on 10 December 2021.

On 28 January 2022, a second virtual meeting between the partners was organised to discuss, among others, the Study visit of Korosten’s delegation to Ukmergė district which will take place in April. A detailed agenda will be developed in the next weeks, but a number of topics of interest were highlighted: such as economic development, healthcare (first and second level), energy efficiency, digitalization of services, culture and cooperation with NGOs.

During the meeting, mayor of Ukmergė district, Rolandas Janickas, also expressed his strong and unwavering support of Ukraine during these difficult times and the threats of Russian military aggression against the country. Mayor of Korosten, Volodymyr Moskalenko, thanked the partner-municipality for the support and expressed hope that the aggression can be prevented via diplomatic means and that international support is very important for Ukraine.
