Ukmergė's Partner City receives support from Ukmergė residents

Another aid shipment from Ukmergė has recently reached the Ukrainian town of Korosten.

This time, the Partner City of Ukmergė received a VOLVO FL611 truck-tipper with a crane, manufactured in 1993, which has been in service in Ukmergė for more than 10 years. The truck, which has recently been little used in Ukmergė, was handed by "Butų ūkis" UAB in order to help the Ukrainians in their struggle.

The truck was handed over along with the water treatment plant's "WA2024" blowers and metal stoves made of rims. In addition, humanitarian aid was sent with donations of women's, men's and children's clothing and footwear, knitted socks and trench candles.

"We very much appreciate your support at this difficult time for us. Thank you very much for everything!", said Volodymyr Moskalenko, Mayor of Korosten Municipality, during his visit to Ukmergė last week.

The Municipality's administration expresses its sincere gratitude to all those who have contributed in various ways to support war-torn Ukraine and its people.

Korosten, which is 700 kilometres from Ukmergė, joined the ranks of Partner Cities on 29 April last year.
